WHAT MAKES YOU... YOU?
Jaymez is complicated like an intricate spider’s web; no one ever has the capability of fully ever figuring him out. He’s unpredictable and wild, comparable to that of an untamed stallion with a short fuse. He’s withdrawn and resigned from the world, avoiding conversations whenever he can. He’s not anti-social, and the truth is, even if he doesn’t admit it is that he’s afraid to forge close relationships due to the fact that people just leave. Jaymez is mysterious and eluding which can draw someone in but also shut them out. He’s stand-offish, hardly easy to approach and is very solemn. He pushes people away in his attempt to be left alone but in some part of him, he’s just wondering who will keep coming back if he does so. He isn’t exactly the greatest person who expresses himself accurately and has a hard time explaining himself. Jaymez comes off as arrogant and egotistical but somewhere beneath the surface lays a humble man just trying to get by.
To gain Jaymez’s trust is a long and grueling process which has yet to be achieved. He’s a loner and is often on the outside looking in. He gets angrily too easy and that gives him a rather high temperament. Provoke Jaymez and he will either revert to physically fighting or verbally speaking out. He will protect those he cares about and will not think twice about lying his life on the line in exchange that they still live. He can get under other peoples’ skin quickly, annoying them by his lack of words and emotions or just by a simple look. To open Jaymez up and to fully understand him would take a considerable amount of time, but once he knows he can trust you, it’s a beautiful thing. He’s soft and considerate, and surprisingly, gentle, as well as secretly family oriented; he wants nothing more than to have a few kids of his own. He’ll emote more feelings and speak with a kind air about him. He’ll do anything for the people he cares about and will spend more money on anyone but himself. He can be giving and generous but all that lays beneath the surface of a very stoic man with a rough past.
HOW DID THE PAST SCULPT YOU?
Jaymez was the middle child, coming after his oldest brother and coming before his younger brother. He was living on the outskirts of a large city in Wyoming. His parents had a nice plot of land to grow crops, have all sorts of livestock, as well as horses on the premises. As a young boy was he was bright and lively, approaching others with fair ease. He was innocent and easy going, preferring to be immersed around his friends and family. Jaymez loved going riding with his mother, especially. As a young child, he was often cradled in her arms whilst his father led them around on the ground. It wasn’t until he was eight that he was permitted to learn how to ride. His mother made sure he was keeping up with his schoolwork and if he was, he would be allowed to get his daily lesson. Needless to say, Jaymez consistently kept up with his homework in order to ride a little pony he fondly named Tootsie after his favorite lollipop.
As he progressed through the stages, he was competing in the ring and messing around with his brothers. At the age of fifteen, Jaymez was given an elderly gelding as his first horse which he adored to no end. Coming home from school he would rush in to say hello to his parents and run right back out to visit his gelding. Around the time he was sixteen, his gelding was getting ill as well as his mother. She was in and out of the hospital with a disease that was taking toll over her body and she was diagnosed with cancer. It was then that his bright and sunny world was consumed by darkness. He was depressed, infrequently going to school in order to stay by his mother’s side. He would often be dragged out of the room by his brothers and father so he could go to school. Once his mother was notified of this, she ordered him to go to school, and he obeyed, passing his classes in order to keep her alive.
Jaymez arrived home on a Friday afternoon and was told by his father that his gelding had passed away naturally and Jaymez dealt with this. He was gone in a natural way rather than his mother who was now declining. By the age of seventeen, his mother’s battle with cancer ended and she was gone from his life permanently. Now being seventeen, Jaymez had changed for the worse and his depression was pulling him under. Without notifying his father, he signed up for the military to join up with his older brother to be in the Army. Graduating from high school with barely passing grades, he waited for when his training would start. On the day of his eighteenth birthday, his father answered the door by men dressed in uniforms and Jaymez came along with his bags already packed. It was then that his father found out about Jaymez entering the military. Even if his father pleaded with him not to go, Jaymez left anyway.
After months of grueling training, Jaymez was launched off into the current war and fought the front lines. His brother and he never really crossed paths for Tony chose to not fight on the front. It was then that Jaymez’s mind snapped and he turned into a merciless killer. He fought back with force, keeping to himself and focusing solely on killing the enemy. At this age, his mind was spiraling out of control and his mental stability was dropping. With the older men in the group, he drank alcohol frequently to medicate himself with in order to try and forget the death of his mother, needless to say, that didn’t happen. Jaymez, when faced with his superiors on either staying or leaving, would often extend his stay and eventually made a career out of being a serviceman in the Army. He had climbed the ranks and was by the time he was twenty-two, he was directing men under his rule.
When he turned twenty-three, however, it was then that Jaymez’s luck took another plummet. He and his men were walking around when they were approached by a frantic man. His words were indecipherable and the translator was taking too long. With his patience running thin, Jaymez wandered towards what appeared to be an empty factory. He had one other man with him he searched for enemy threats, keeping a look out for the man with him. A shot rang out and hit his partner, crumpling him to the ground. He soon rose, grateful that the metal plate he was wearing had stopped the bullet. Jaymez had his back turned and soon two more bullets rang out, hitting Jaymez square in the shoulder, going straight through to the other side. He blacked out and awoke in the infirmary. His superiors came to him as soon as he was responsive and told him he had served his country and was going home for good. He returned home to his father who tried to level with him but soon their once calm conversation took a turn for the worse and Jaymez was enraged. He broke multiple things in the house, hurtling them through the building. Pieces of shattered glass were on the floor and he left the house for a month before returning.
He barely spoke to his father, keeping to himself. He jumped at the loudest of noises and immediately reached down to where his gun would be on his outfit. Jaymez was forced to see a “counselor” and was later told he was suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder which caused the sudden change of his personality from when he was a child and having been sent into the war. It explained numerous things as to how he reacted to noises and acted in a violent manner. When he was six months away from turning twenty-four, he packed his bags and shipped himself out to Solo Ireland. He purchased horses to keep him occupied and to keep himself out of trouble. He wanted to forget his mother dying and what he saw in the military but to no avail. All he wants now is peace but Jaymez is now finding that there really is no way out.
