soul meets body
indiana laughed giddily and twirled her hair, acting as if she was interested in the guy in front of her. truth be told, she didn't find him to be that attractive and he had no personality, but he did have money to buy her drinks and that was all the twenty year old needed. she batted her eyelashes and flirted her ass off, glad that she had decided to wear her little black dress instead of . although she was happy to have the attention and drinks, indie was getting tired of the guy. especially since he was getting a little too close to her. now, even though most people thought that indiana was a slut that would do it with anyone, she did have standards. and this guy wasn't even close to surpassing those standards. still, she let him buy her one more drink before excusing herself to go to the bathroom. the club was in full swing and indie had to dance her way to the other side of the club. on the way, hands made their way on to indie's body but she didn't mind. she was already used to it. after all this was the place she spent most of her weekends, when she wasn't riding that was. indiana knew that she should have been sleeping or doing some other shit like most riders did, but she was different. she knew she was good and she believed she didn't need as much practice as anyone else. she was a cocky girl but indie saw it as being confident. she finally made her way to the other side of the club where there were a bunch of people sitting on the couches near the walls, making out and doing god knows what. it would probably take him fifteen minutes to figure out that she wasn't going to go back, but by then she would have already found a new victim. indie laughed at the thought before pulling out a cigarette from her bra. she wasn't much of a purse girl and she wasn't wearing boots, so her bra was the only logical place for her to hide her cigarettes. she pulled out a light and tried lighting the cigarette but it wasn't working. indie cursed loudly, not that anyone could hear it with the sound of the music. she groaned and slumped down against the wall. this night was slowly turning into shit.

The sound of gun shots woke Bentley from his slumber. He nearly fell off the couch from being startled. He rubbed his eyes and watched as the screen of the television faded to black and then regained color as the CSI team investigated the crime scene. He laid his head back onto the arm of the couch and sighed. It seemed like the smallest thing scared him anymore; he had become a paranoid man since his accident over a year ago. Yawning, he pulled himself from the couch and walked towards the fridge. Milk and leftovers from last night was the extent of the ice-box’s contents. It looked like he would be going out tonight. Where, he wasn’t sure; he just knew that he had to get out of the house.
After cleaning himself up a bit he was out the door and climbing into his Audi S5; a birthday gift from his parents. Turning the key, the vehicle burst into life and pulled out of the townhouse's driveway. He turned up the radio as he turned onto the busy main road. His townhouse was a mere five minutes from downtown Rosses Point, give or take. Bentley rolled down the windows as he turned onto the main drag. He scanned the lighted signs for somewhere that caught his eye. He would have never dreamed that Club Notte would be his final destination.
As he pulled into the parking lot the memories started to flood his mind. He remembered coming here all the time with his friends before the accident. You know, back when they liked to have fun and didn't have girlfriends to deal with. He recalled several of his current friends telling him that they hung out their on a weekly basis so he figured he was bound to run into someone he could have a good time with. He parked the Audi and walked up to the door, ID already in hand. The guard studied his license before opening the door allowing the loud music to hit Bentley like a sonic boom. He smiled widely as he put the ID back in his wallet and walked into the dim lighted room. His first destination: the bar.
It was a struggle to get through the masses of people but he eventually was able to push through to the wooden bar. He ordered his drink and waited patiently for the bartender to fullfill his request. As he waited, he regognized a familiar face at the other end of the bar. He watched as she got up and started to make her way through the crowd towards the other side of the club. He kept an eye on her as he payed the bartender. After grabbing his drink he tried to make his way through the dancing towards where the girl had disappeared. As he broke from the crowd on the other side of the large room he spotted her. With a smile he walked towards her, laughing as she pulled a cigarette from her bra. Typical Indie. He let another chuckle escape him as her attempts at lighting the thing were unsuccessful.
With a smile he let himself sink down next to her against the wall. He turned towards her and smiled chamingly. "Now what's a prime and proper lady," he chuckled before continueing, "like yourself doing in a place like this?' he winked dramatically at her and looked out across the vast room. "I mean, guys like him," he pointed at what looked to be a forty-five year old man making moves on a twenty-some year old girl, "They may get the wrong idea," Bentley lifted his eyebrows up and down in a suggestive manner before laughing happily and taking a sip of his drink.

soul meets body
indiana was usually surrounded by guys at the club, but lately the number of hot guys was dwindling. it probably was because there was a competition tomorrow and many were sleeping so that they would be well rested. like always, indiana had to be the outcast that didn't follow what she was supposed to. then again, most of them were used to getting eight hours of sleep while indiana could survive on a mere four. she hated it, but she could still do fairly well in a competition. anyways, she stopped thinking about horses. usually, her mind would just stick to the thought of horses and she lost her interest in being at the club. indie usually didn't mind, but she really needed to have fun tonight, she hadn't been to the club in days. unfortunately, she really wanted a quick smoke before she went out on the dance-floor again. it would get the taste of that sicko off of her. okay, so maybe she did kiss him a bit but only because the drinks were too good to pass up. indiana was sure to do anything, well almost anything, to get a free drink. she had no job, and most of her daddy's money went towards her horse. would she actually give up her horse to drink? of course not, which was why indiana had come up with her fool-proof method of getting free drinks. that was until she met that loser. it was usually easier to avoid people like him because she had either her guy friends around, or other guys to protect her. now indiana knew not to flirt alone. anyways, indiana continued trying to light her cigarette, then threw it on the ground. it was impossible and she was far too annoyed to even continue trying. indiana couldn't help but think that it might be better if she went home, till a familiar voice was heard. indiana smiled, knowing very well who it was without even having to look. he slid down next to her, and indiana could smell his cologne. it was one of the few scents that she would be able to recognize anywhere, obviously considering bentley was one of the people that she loved having around. indiana laughed, only bentley could be dramatic and not be hated by indie. "well i seem to have gotten lost, i was on my way to a tea and i somehow ended up in this horrible place" indiana said. she covered her eyes and sighed loudly, continuing the charade. indiana let her eyes fall on the guy that bentley was pointing at, disgusted by how old he looked. honestly, how desperate were those guys, and ore importantly, how badly was that girl drinking. "oh don't worry, everyone gets the wrong idea when it comes to me" indiana said with a wink. although it meant having less guys flocking her, not that she minded tonight seeing as there were only perverts around, indiana was glad that she had bumped into bentley here. she needed a good laugh.

soul meets body
indiana was actually surprised that bentley was at the club in the first place, but she was happy about it. ever since he had his accident, he hadn't set foot in this place which sucked. bentley was honestly one of the people that she loved having around, and not just because he was devilishly handsome. he made her happy. then again that wasn't much of a compliment. it was easy to make indiana happy, seeing as she took everything as a joke. well, except bentley's accident. that was the one time that she truly was serious. if it had been anyone else, she wouldn't have taken it that seriously but bentley was different. her other friends weren't as famous as him. not that she minded, but she knew that the accident meant more to him that it would to anyone else that indie knew. plus, she knew that if it had happened to her, she would be scarred for life. in one way, her and bentley were the same. though he was more talented than her which indiana would never actually say to his face. it would give him a big head. indiana laughed at the thought of bentley with an actual big head, which much have made her look crazy, then again, she was pretty wasted. she turned to look at bentley once more. it felt nice just the two of them together. "are you suggesting that i'm dare you say it... lying" indiana said with the most dramatic voice she could muster. if this continued, she was not sure she would be able to hold in her laughter. she felt his shoulders bump into hers and realized that she was freezing. usually, she was hot because of all the dancing but she was on the floor, in the shortest dress, and she was freezing her ass off. indiana thought about pulling bentley on to the dancefloor, but it felt nice just sitting there with him. then again, if she stayed on the floor any longer she would die before she could even get on the dance floor. she decided to go for it when she heard what he said. it actually made indiana laugh. everyone thought she was so easy, which she kind of was, but she wouldn't even go for forty year old guys. high twenties, low thirties was where she drew the line, unless she were like so handsome that even bitchy girls would want them. indiana giggled more when he mentioned that she had never given him anything. which wasn't entirely true. she had made out with him when they first met but who wouldn't make out with a stranger that looked like bentley. hell, she was surprised that no girl had bothered to hit on him.. yet. "i do have standards, and as low as they may be, i would never go for an old fart like that" indiana stated. "well they are pretty sexy, so maybe i should give you some action, huh" indiana said jokingly. not that she would mind if he actually agreed. bentley was pretty sexy, though it would suck if something like that ruined the great thing they had. indiana scoffed at the thought. they were the perfect pair. indiana stood up after a while, because she was still freezing, and gave bentley her hand to take. "if you want some action, then come on the dancefloor with me before i freeze" indiana said with a smile.

It had been awhile since he'd come to the club. It really wasn't his scene but today it seemed like the only place he really wanted to be; especially if Indie was here with him. Yeah you could call them good friends, but he couldn't help but feel like their could be more between them. For the last year, relationshps were the last thing on his mind. He always told his guy friends that he had a mare and she was enough woman for him to deal with. Yeah, dorky, but he felt it had some truth behind it. Macy, the mare his parents bought him in hopes of him regaining his confidence, was a typical "woman". She was needy and it was either her way or the highway. Made her difficult to train but Bentley liked the challenge.
he couldn't help but smile when he was around her. Yeah, he was generally a happy person but it seemed like their was never a dull moment when Indie was in your company. He felt a smile return to his face as she insinuated whether he thought she was lying or not. "Just callin' them how I see them," he said with a shrug. "I think I just know you too well," This was a true statement. They were the type of friends that knew everything about one another. Not because they necessarily wanted to, it just happened that way.
He was quite content on the floor, though it wasn't the most comfortable place to be. He watched people walk past them happily, taking a sip of his drink every now and again. He laughed cheerfully with Indie as he spoke. He honestly had thought she was easy, at first atleast. I mean, you would get that idea when a total stranger starts making out with you right? He remembered that day like it was yesterday. Although, it really hadn't been his only occasion of making out with a stranger. It acctually happened quite often. Maybe he was the "easy" one?
"i do have standards, and as low as they may be, i would never go for an old fart like that,"
He chuckled as he downed the last gulp of his drink. "Oh come on," he said, looking back over to the man who was now making out with the younger girl. "He seems like a keeper, probably good in bed too. You aren't born with experience you know. Am I right?" Honestly, the site of that man making out with the girl who had to be around he and Indie's age was repulsing. He knew very well that Indie would never stoop that low.
"well they are pretty sexy, so maybe i should give you some action, huh"
He laughed happliy, leaning his head against the wall. He smiled widely, messing with his hair. "You just name the time and place darlin'. I'll see if I can fit you into my schedule." he stated jokingly. He almost hoped, for just a second, that she would name a time and place. He quickly pushed the thought of his head. They were friends, good friends. Ruining that relationship wasn't worth it.
"if you want some action, then come on the dancefloor with me before i freeze"
Bentley watched as Indie pushed herself up from the floor and put out a hand for him to grab. He automatically reached for it and pulled himself up from the floor as well. He immediatly took the lead and dragged her along onto the dancefloor. "You very well know that I have mad dancing skills," he said sarcastically turning towards her.

soul meets body
indiana rolled her eyes, though bentley's words were true. he knew more about her than her own father did, then again everyone else did. her father was a business man and there was a lot of business even in a small town like this. indie missed her father but if she wanted to continue riding, then she would just deal with it the way she always did. by partying and hanging out with her boys. maybe thats why she enjoyed having boys company more. it filled the void that was left behind by a father that never paid much attention to her. indiana almost puled by how lifetime story-like her life sounded. it wasn't like she lived such a sad life. she could party as much as she wanted, buy as much as she wanted, and sleep with whoever she wanted. and who she wanted at the moment, was bentley.
not like she would say anything. if it happened, it happened and if it didn't, then she could still enjoy his company. indiana wanted the boy but she didn't want to mess up the good thing they had going on. she was never one to keep relationships, and she didn't care. but she did care about the boy. "well i would never lie, i'm an angel" indiana said, giving him her sweetest face. the mere thought of indiana being an angel even made her laugh."you don't know me that well" indiana joked. "i bet you don't know... what my favorite food is" indiana continued. obviously, she would change it if he got it right, which he probably would.
indiana was surprised that bentley hadn't pushed her away or anything when she had initiated their kiss. then again, what sane boy would. they would have probably been taken back though. but that was indiana. she did what she wanted, except for now. if it were up to indiana, bentley and her would have always left the club and have been somewhere on their own. and no, she didn't mean that they had to have sex like she did with most other guys. there was just something about bentley that made her actually not mind just talking to him all night without sleeping with each other. it was a thought that had never crossed indie's mind, because she had never cared about someone that much. god, this was going to backfire on her.
"yeah, good if his back doesn't go out or something like that" indiana added. how old people could even do it, she would never know. her own father was just forty and he already looked old and fragile to indiana. which was why she was planning on taking advantage of her looks for as long as she could. "just cause he's old doesn't mean he has gotten any action. for all you know he could have been a thirty year old virgin" indie joked. indiana knew she should have just laughed it off. it was a joke after all. but the words came out before she could even stop them. "fine then. tomorrow, at my place." indiana wasn't even sure if she meant then or not, though a part of her truly did.
maybe bentley would think it was just the alcohol talking. or maybe he would actually show up. either way, indiana was screwed. for a tiny little thing, indiana was actually much stronger than she looked. she helped bentley, though she didnd't have to use much force since he practically pushed himself up. she let herself be guided, not caring that she was usually the leader when it came to dancing. "of course, you do" indiana said with a laugh.

The club was getting more and more crowded by the minute. He recalled the club being more of a “secret” place when he used to hang out here every weekend. You know, back when it was simply the young kids who came here for enjoyment. Obviously some adults realized they were missing out on all the fun and began to ooze themselves into the clubbing lifestyle. Odd, but who wouldn’t blame them. People in their thirties are looking for a bit of fun as well. Bentley let his eyes follow one older girl as she crossed the dance floor. She was all over the younger men who, unfortunately, would go after anyone who would have the decency to give them the time of day. Bentley shook his head lazily, he could never imagine giving in so easily.
Indie’s comment about being an angel made him chuckle, they both knew that that was the farthest thing from the truth. His attention was drawn off the woman instantly as he listened to Indie’s challenge. “Alright angel, your favorite food is….” He paused, thinking back to a time when she may have mentioned such a thing, “I’m gonna go with…” he lifted a hand to his chin and put on his best “thinking face”. “Pizza. Pizza from that little italian place by your house. No toppings, you like it plain.” It was funny, he seemed to know more about Indie than he even knew about himself. At that moment he really couldn’t think of what his own favorite food was. Although, that little place really did have the best pizza in all of Ireland.
He always liked the fact that Indie and he shared a common sense of humor. Many of the girls he would hang with on occasion couldn’t catch a joke and they would be mad if he went around poking fun at anyone. Nope, Indie was always there to fuel his fire, which he appreciated. Bentley had never had many guy buds that he could fool off with. To him, Indie was the closest thing he would ever have. Not that she was like a guy friend; she just let him be himself, his normal, goofy self. But there was always that thought in the back of his mind. The thought of that kiss they shared several years ago. The idea that maybe they were something more than good friends. Bentley quickly dusted off the thought of him and Indie ever having anything more than each other’s backs; that could ruin everything.
Bentley and Indie casually watched the older gentleman basically pounce onto that girl. Sick. Bentley released a chuckle, however, when Indie responded to his comment about older people being better in bed cause they had experience. He personally didn’t think that was a very true statement but he thought the idea was quite amusing. The next thing he knew she was answering his plea for a time and place for them to meet. It took him off guard to say the least. For a minute his heart leaped in his chest, was she serious? Or was this just another joking moment between the dynamic duo? “Well,” he said with a sigh, “”I’ll have to replace that sexy momma over there, with you” he pointed into the crowd where the older woman now prowled on the younger boys, “Damn, and I was really looking forward to taming my first cougar.” He couldn’t help but laugh happily.
Bentley had never been the dancing type, although he did take ballroom lessons when he was a teenager on his parents’ request. Yeah, not the type of dancing you see here, but it was something. As he pulled Indie onto the floor he smiled charmingly to all the faces that now stared at him. They stared at what he once was; a hero for the small town where nothing happens. He smirked at a woman who had her mouth gaped open in awe, like she thought he had risen from the dead. In essence, he had. He’d lived through something so traumatic that no one would ever understand. Then again, he always felt that Indie understood quite well. Not that she directly knew the pain he was feeling, but she had been there through it all. As he spun her into him he couldn’t help but smile until his cheeks hurt. Maybe something would come of this night.
The stares were still piercing him as he looked down on Indie. He wrapped his arms around her hips and pulled her into him. “If you think I’m incapable of whoahing you with my bad ass ballroom moves then show me how it’s done, honey.” He laughed, and loosened his grip, but only a smidge, and waited for her to dazzle him with her dancing. He leaned in and whispered into her ear, “Wow me and I’ll buy you your next drink,” he drew away and winked.
